WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - People danced, played old instruments and ate food from the 1700s at the Burgwin-Wright House Museum's annual Colonial Christmas celebration. The museum has been celebrating an old fashioned Christmas for about 20 years.
Jackie Margoles manages the museum and said it's a way for folks to see what Christmas was like even before people put Christmas trees up in their homes.
"If the children of the 1700s if they could see you guys today they would probably faint in their boots because they couldn't imagine the conveniences and luxuries these children have today," she said.
An 18th century surgeon also showed off just how different medical procedures were during that time period.
