WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Wilmington City Council members met Friday morning for one of several planning sessions that take place throughout the year.
While no actions were taken, a number of reports will be provided. Council members have also provided a list of question on topics they would like more information.
One of the topics council members discussed was ways to improve the quickness of bringing new developers to the area. Some council members say the current process is too slow.
Council members all agreed that the planning department and engineers need to do a better job of keeping the public and business owners more up-to-date on projects.
City officials say they would like for city employees to try and speed up the development process up and take a closer look at restrictions.
Some council members say they would even like to see larger public hearing signs, along with a website where people can go to and get information on a project.
According to the city, financial updates will be provided on Saturday morning with more informal discussion to follow.
