Clearer skies and warmer weather will be the lasting trend as we move toward the weekend – you can thank dry high pressure setting up shop over the eastern United States. The pesky clouds we saw across southeastern North Carolina yesterday are well on their way off-shore, in their wake are sunny skies and light northerly winds. As this high pressure center moves overhead our winds will calm, allowing temperatures to drop to the upper 30s for lows Tuesday into Wednesday. But as that high pressure area moves to the east much warmer weather moves in out of the northern Gulf. Look for Thursday and Friday temperatures to rocket into the mid to upper 60s with several 70s for high temperatures across the region.
A moisture starved cold front moves in late Friday bringing some small rain chances and cooler weather to the region by Saturday as our highs will retreat to the mid 60s Saturday then the mid 50s by Friday.
