BRUNSWICK COUNTY (WECT) – Jimmy Fletcher has been let go as head football coach at West Brunswick, a position he's held since 2004.
"Total shock," Fletcher said. "The AD and I had different ideas about the way you run a program."
Athletics Director John Floyd declined to comment.
Over his nine years on the sideline for West Brunswick, Fletcher's teams went 37-and-59.
This past season, the Trojans finished the season with a 4-7 overall record and a first round loss to Hunt in the class 3-A playoffs.
Fletcher had been tabbed as the head coach of the East-West football game, which will be played July 18th in Greensboro.
"I'm still the coach," Fletcher said. "Our first meeting is Sunday. Great timing isn't it?"
