It's that time of year when we're all supposed to be thankful. I really try to be that way all year. It's something my grandmother instilled in me.
If I complained about anything, Grandma Pearl would remind me, "Gary you always have a lot to be thankful for. Just count your blessings and you'll see they far outweigh your problems." And she was right every time.
This economy continues to drag on all of us. And the folks in Washington aren't giving us much hope. There's never been a better time for Grandma Pearl's advice. Almost all of us have more blessings than problems. And if you doubt that, just take stock for moment and see if her formula still applies. I'm betting it does.
It's all about putting ourselves in a position of gratitude. My advice is to count double blessings for family and friends. Even if that's all you have, they are special and a great reason to be truly thankful.
That's my turn. Now it's your turn….to count your blessings and honor my grandmother as a very wise woman.
