WILMINGTON, NC (WSFX) - A young woman has brought her passion for helping people to Wilmington by expanding a program called Paws4People.
Kyria Henry relocated here from Virginia and created the program when she was just 12 years old.
In 2010 Kyria won a national contest sponsored by IKEA and received $100,000 to continue to pursue her passion.
She is now at UNCW offering a course to students who want to learn how to train service dogs. Once the dogs are trained they can be given to local veterans who are disabled.
