(Lumberton-AP) -- Authorities say an eleven-year-old girl who was visiting her older sister during the Christmas holiday was killed in a drive-by shooting while she slept last night. Robeson County sheriff's Lieutenant Ken Sealey says Nicole Oxendine died instantly after she was shot once in the head about 11:35 p-m while she slept at the home of Bridget Oxendine, her 23-year-old sister. Nicole, a fourth-grader at West Lumberton Elementary School, lived with her grandmother, Nadyne Locklear, at another home in Lumberton. Mickey Locklear, Nicole's uncle, says Nicole liked playing video games and hanging out with her older sisters Bridget and her other sister, Deanna. Sealey says the mobile home was shot at least three or four times. Investigators believe a high-powered weapon was used, but they weren't sure if it was a rifle or handgun.
