Cuddly Companions

A generous group of volunteers woke up extra early to bring some Christmas cheer and a cuddly friend for those who weren't feeling well on Christmas day.

Myrtle Constantinue is spending her Christmas in the hospital and New Hanover Regional Medical Center's Auxiliary foundation wanted to do something for patients just like Myrtle.

About a dozen volunteers delivered the bears to over 400 patients at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, and to some it brought tears of Christmas joy.

The foundation spent over $2,000 dollars on the cuddly teddy bears, to ensure everyone had a special gift this holiday season.

And for Myrtle, her bear will be a cuddly companion to last a lifetime.
