The 100th anniversary of the Wright Brothers' first flight is not going to bring a re-enactment. Crews trying to get a replica of the plane into the air today at Kill Devil Hills have given up. The weather was a problem all day and in the end, there wasn't enough wind to get the plane into the air. They're planning to try again next year. An attempt early this afternoon fell short, with the replica plane splashing into a mud puddle before it could even get off the ground. At a ceremony this morning, president bush said the wright brothers also endured "some disappointments along the way."
