Zach Hunt graduated from UNC-Wilmington in the summer of 2011 with a BA in Communication Studies.
While studying at UNCW, Zach shot a video for the 2010 Landfall Tradition women's golf tournament at Landfall Country Club. Meteorologist Colin Hackman was the emcee of his video and thought so highly of the finished product that he asked, "would you like to get paid to do this sort of thing?"
So, next thing he knew, Zach was working in the production department for WECT.
He worked as news content specialist for about six months, then took a once in a life time opportunity with UNCW to shoot a documentary in San Pedro, Belize.
After the week long documentary shoot in Belize, Zach returned to WECT as a photo journalist, working with Claire Hosmann on Carolina In the Morning.
Now, Zach has gone digital and is working to keep viewers informed online, on mobile and in the social media world.
Zach loves being able to tell a story without words. Capturing unfolding events on camera is one of his favorite things to do. Zach said he feels very fortunate to be able to wake up and be excited about going to work.
I have an amazingly supportive and loving family, fiance, and group of friends. I enjoy hanging out at the beach, riding my duel sport motorcycle, and volunteering at my church. I would eventually like to be a weatherman or pit side reporter for NASCAR!
