Ben Powell grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina. He went to high school at Oak Hill Academy in Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia and attended college at UNCW where he majored in Communication Studies with a concentration in broadcasting.
Ben started at WECT in October, 2009 as a News Content Specialist.
Since then, he has worked his way up to the newsroom where he currently works as a photo journalist. His goal is to one day work as a Sports Reporter/Broadcaster.
In his free time, Ben enjoys playing basketball, going out around town, and watching sports on TV. "GO HEELS!"
