Around 3:00 pm a military truck clipped a utilities pole at the intersection of College Road and Oleander Drive in Wilmington. The collission snapped the pole in half.
Progress Energy is on the scene repairing the pole, but the damage has caused the power at the intersection to be turned off, and the intersection is closed.
All traffic on College Road is being diverted to avoid the area.
