Boat pilot gets rescued

The pilot of a 47-foot boat is recovering after his vessel ran aground near Snow's Cut at Carolina Beach. 60-year-old John Grinaldi was reportedly propping his leg on a foot rest when it broke throwing him forward. He suffered a concussion after slamming into the windshield and that's when the boat ran aground and started taking on water. Grinaldi was treated an released from the New Hanover Regional Medical Center and authorities pulled his boat from the water.
