Life just keeps getting better for Tulip, the dog that was washed overboard at Topsail Inlet more than a month ago. Her family in Wilmington thought they'd never see her again, but the long haired Dachshund turned up in Pender County and was reunited with her owners Tuesday. On Wednesday Tulip went to the vet and Doctor Joanne Thompson of Hanover Regional Animal Hospital gave her a thorough examination and removed some ticks. Thompson says considering all the dog has been through; she's doing fine.
Plus, since we first reported Tulip's adventure earlier this week her story has spread far and wide. Our pictures of the Miles family seeing their long-lost pet have aired on T.V. stations nationwide. And now, even Inside Edition is interested. The show that airs here on W.E.C.T. at 5:30 will broadcast a special segment on Tulip on Monday.
