Carolina Farmin' stocks up for Hurricane Irene

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - The newest grocery store in Wilmington is ready for its first hurricane.

Like other stores in the area, Carolina Farmin' has stocked up with all the water, bread, milk and other necessities you'll need to get through the storm.

Wayne Long, who owns the store, says he saw an increase in customers today.

He associates that with Irene.

Long says he expects to see even more shoppers as the storm approaches, and he's ready for them.

He also says if the storm hits Wilmington, he will likely close once it makes landfall to protect his workers.
