Hurricane Sandy: How to stay informed with WECT

Hurricane Sandy has formed in the tropics and could impact the Carolina coast.  WECT is making it easy for you stay informed, regardless of where you are.

On Air

The First Alert Meteorologists are keeping a close eye on Sandy and will show you the latest models and forecasted tracks during each newscast on WECT.  They will also give updates anytime of the day, as they are needed.


You can keep an eye on Hurricane Sandy by clicking on  Not only can you view the latest predictions, tracks and radar but you can access the Hurricane Survival Guide.   In it you can find information about evacuation routes, shelters and the essentials needed in your survival kit.  Be sure to click on the Hurricane Center to try the interactive hurricane tracker and to check out the interactive radar.

We have a number of ways you can receive information straight to your mobile phone.  For some, this may be the only way to stay connected if you lose power or your internet connection.
