The goal of this web site is to document with pictures all of the latitude and longitude integer degree intersections in the world--including 4 here in southeastern North Carolina and northeastern South Carolina. Each intersection includes a story about how the point was reached, the approximate altitude of the point, the relative distance to the nearest city, and the GPS equipment that was used.
In our hurricane tracking guide, we list 34 north, 78 west for Wilmington--that's an approximation for the map. The actual 34N, 78W is near here--in the Sunny Point Military Ocean Terminal. The trackers that wrote for the site got as far as the gate before being turned away.
The site includes 128 countries plus the continent of Antarctica and international waters.
