Signs continue to show Tropical Storm Bret is a minimal treat. The Hurricane Hunter aircraft flew through the storm several times and detected signs of weakening, as pressure inside the storm has risen slightly. Bret is slowly moving to the north and east with maximum sustained winds of 60 mph. There is a chance Bret could re-strengthen within the next 12 hours, but will likely track hundreds of miles off of the Carolina coast.
Beaches from Florida to Maryland could experience bigger waves and will have a higher risk for rip currents throughout the week. Use extra caution when swimming, and pay attention to the flags posted by the lifeguards.
