Weekend fishing outlook

Here is a look at your weekend fishing prospects only on your mobile:

The heat slowed down the fishing this week.  It not only put the fish in the mood to avoid eating, but it was just difficult to be out there fishing.

Jamie at County Line Bait and Tackle at Castle Hayne tells us the bream are still hitting on crickets, red worms, wax worms and jibs.  If you have catfish fishing in mind, they are biting the live eels, nightcrawlers and shrimp, plus live bream.

Along the coast, there have been some good catches of flounder and red drum in the Waterway, Snow's Cut and some coastal creeks.

A few spanish mackerel are being caught trolling Clark Spoons, about a mile off the coast, and farther off shore, mahi, grouper, snapper and some tuna are being caught in the Gulf Stream.

Good luck this weekend!
