The article states the trip will take the delegation to Rome; Tbilisi, Georgia; Vilnius, Lithuania; Moscow and Lisbon.  The itinerary even points out Congressman McIntyre and his wife, Dee, will celebrate their 29th wedding anniversary in Rome.

Here is the entire statement released Friday afternoon from Congressman Mike McIntyre's office:

"As a senior member of both the U.S. House Agriculture and Armed Services Committees, I will be traveling on official business to Russia and Europe to meet with foreign ministers, Members of Parliament, ambassadors, business leaders, and economic development officials to discuss a host of important issues related to trade, national security, jobs, and international relations.

"In addition, as a senior member of the U.S. Commission on Security and Cooperation with Europe, I will be speaking at an international forum on democracy, which includes a former U.S. Secretary of State, regarding the importance of democracy and the principles to ensure that they are preserved and enhanced.

"Spouses are allowed to accompany Members of Congress on official trips, and the McIntyres will pay for any expenses incurred by the government on behalf of Mrs. McIntyre."
