Whiteville's Museum of Forestry close to reopening

WHITEVILLE, NC (WECT) – After surviving state budget cuts, the North Carolina Museum of Forestry in Whiteville is almost ready to open.
Earlier this year, several people campaigned to keep the governor from closing the museum, which is under a $2 million renovation.
"It's a real addition to the economic and cultural life of our region, and we are quickly developing it to be a destination point that will benefit everybody that is connected with it," said Harry Warren with the Museum of Forestry.
The director of the museum said construction workers have to finish some work inside before employees move in next month.
The museum will reopen in September with a big display called "Prehistoric Giants," featuring dinosaur skeletons.
