Source: WPDNew Hanover County Commissioner Brian Berger may be in trouble with the law again.
It appears he's been reaching out to his girlfriend on Facebook, and that could be a violation of court orders.
Berger was arrested last Friday following a fight with his girlfriend. A judge ordered him not to communicate with Heather Blaylock. Tuesday afternoon, a post on her Facebook site indicated he had requested to be her friend and she accepted.
Lillian Bright, the assistant district attorney in New Hanover and Pender Counties says that could be a violation of his court order. She says a detective in the DA's office is investigating. If there is enough evidence that supports a violation, the case will be turned over to the judge who issued the orders.
Berger also posted on his Facebook site a quote Blaylock said during an exclusive interview with WECT Monday where she said she would like to drop the charges. She said " I can't even tell him how much I love him and how sorry I am." After posting that quote on his Facebook site, Berger added "I feel the same way."
The district attorney's office is expected to complete its investigation Wednesday morning.
