WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Dozens of people dressed down to stand up for a good cause on Friday night.

The Assistance League of Greater Wilmington hosted the Blue Jean Ball "Jeans and Jewels" event at the Wilmington Convention Center.

WECT's Heather Setzler was the emcee of the event.

The Assistance League raises money to help buy school uniforms for underprivileged school children. The group also supports several other local causes.
