"Sounds of Summer" concert series announced

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The free, popular WECT "Sounds of Summer" concert series is back again this year.

The lineup of acts was announced Friday.  The series will kick off with "Key Lime Pie" on June 23rd.  The group is a tropical rock band with a laid back party vibe.

On July 7th, you can come out to see "The M-80s."  That group formed just last year and plays your favorite songs of the 80's.

"Selah Dubb" plays the series on July 21st.  The music is described as Sublime meets Bob Marley.

On August 4th, the series wraps up with "The Imitations," which plays music from the beach, Motown, 50's, 60's and 70's.

The concerts will all take place at the Wrightsville Beach Park.  The free shows start at 6:30pm and run until 8pm.  If there's a rain out, we'll have the concert the following Thursday at the same time.
