WECT's Bob Townsend gathered some information for you avid fishermen and women out there. We have it ready for your mobile phone!
In shore around the docks in the waterway, a few Redfish and Black drum have been caught on shrimp and mud minnows. They are also biting in the creeks around oyster rocks using Gulp Alive in the shrimp and minnow patterns. At the mouth of the Cape Fear River, the Whiting are starting to bite on shrimp on the turn of the tides.
According to the Carolina Explorer, black bass are biting like crazy off shore, you just can't keep any until June 15th.
And in the river, County Line Bait & Tackle report catfish are being caught on live eels as well as on brim and night crawlers. The crappies are being caught on jigs and minnows and the nice catches of brim are being reported by those using crickets and red worms.
You can catch the fishing report each Monday on Carolina in the Morning.
