New Hanover County developers are setting a new record for building homes. More than 18-hundred permits for new residential construction have been issued in the last year, that's over a nine percent increase from the previous year. Robert perdue is a new home owner in the brewster place subdivision near monkey junction. He says the houses are popping up faster than he can count. The companies building homes are running into an expensive problem...the cost of plywood is going up fast.
