Six charged in connection with Tabor City double homicide
COLUMBUS COUTNY, NC (WECT) – Six people are facing charges in connection to a double homicide of two half-brothers in Tabor City in December 2010.
Authorities have most recently charged Dryan Vereen and Ronald Eugene Bellamy in connection to the murder of Lee Vereen and Jerome Williams. They were found shot to death in the Ridgeland Acres Trailer Park. At the time, authorities said it appeared the men were being robbed and both were shot in the back.
Deputies arrested Antwan Omar Wright in Tabor City Wednesday morning. He was the fourth person to face charges in the case.
Jonathan Dewayne Gore, 22, was charged earlier this week as an accessory for the murder of the half-brothers. He was also arrested earlier this month for an unrelated crime. Police say he fired shots at a group of men on South Bay Street in Tabor City, and some of those shots went into nearby homes.
Canisha Bell, 19, and Jacques Vereen, 16, were charged earlier this month for the same incident. Jacques was arrested in a house in Clarendon last Wednesday, while Bell was picked up in Atlantic Beach last Thursday. It is unclear if Dryan or Jacques Vereen is related to Lee Otis Vereen.
