Salute to our heroes

Marines are use to saluting their commanders, but Thursday in Jacksonville it's the marines who got saluted. It's part of Jacksonville's "Salute to our Heroes." The morning started with a parade of about a dozen different marine units that marched the streets of downtown Jacksonville. Hundreds of people both young and old came out to recognize local support efforts. After parading, everyone headed to a local shopping center for some free homestyle barbecue. Marines say all the support makes serving a little easier. Colonel Oliver North was also in Jacksonville signing copies of his latest book. North also shared his views on the war in Iraq. All the days events precede a music celebration.
