NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – A man who pleaded his innocence was found guilty of first degree murder in a New Hanover County courtroom Tuesday.
Andre Sharpless was found guilty of killing Tarell Phillips at a home on North Tenth Street in December 2009. Sharpless and another person, Kamala Dow, were also shot during the incident.
Evidence showed Phillips was shot several times in the front and back.
Despite being sentenced to life in prison, reports say Sharpless apologized to the family for their loss.
