WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A viewer filed a report on the See, Click, Fix section of WECT.com complaining about a sinkhole in the 400 block of North Kerr Avenue in Wilmington.
The post reads, "Why isn't the sink hole at this location fixed, they keep filling it in thinking it's patched, a few days later it is sunk again. It is getting so deep,my car is dragging the ground."
According to the North Carolina Department of Transportation, they maintain the road but the Cape Fear Public Utility Authority is responsible for the sewer in this spot and the problem lies under the road.
The NCDOT says the roadway surface area was leveled last week in order to provide scheduling of inspections.
CFPUA will perform a camera inspection of their lines in the area last week.
The current plan is the two agencies working together to raise the manhole ring and cover and level the asphalt this week.
