Wednesday was the first day of class at UNCW and the university is proud of the changing face of its student body. The university says the number of minority students is up fifty percent over last year. Chancellor Rosemary Depaolo describes the class of 2007 as well rounded. Depaolo says the increased diversity is a direct result of last year's campus wide task force that focused on attracting more minorities. And 12 African American faculty members have also been added to the university. Some students say it's a step in the right direction, but still not enough.
