WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Doctors in three counties have different situations to report on children with the flu.

At Oak Island Pediatrics in Brunswick County doctors saw seven cases in one day, but then by the end of the week saw a total of 15 confirmed cases. Most of the children had gotten a flu shot.

The Pender County Health Department saw only one confirmed case of the flu last week but are seeing a lot of a 'flu-like' virus going around as well as a stomach virus.

Dr. Robert Rich in Bladen County reports a drop in the number of flu cases there. At one point last week several of the providers he deals with were reporting 10 cases of flu a day but by the end of the week that had dropped to 5 cases a day. They are also seeing RSV, a respiratory virus in infants, some have been hospitalized.
