COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) - A Columbus County grand jury indicted three men for first degree murder Thursday.
Joshua Weatherspoon, Xzavia Parker, and Elias Collins face charges related to the shooting death of a convenience store owner last month in Tabor City. They are also charged with robbery and conspiracy. All three men are from Loris, South Carolina.
According to prosecutors, the three men robbed and killed Abdo Qoria at the R & R Quick Mart January 17.
Police found Elias Collins in a hospital in South Carolina. He had apparently been hit with gunfire during the robbery.
District Attorney Jon David said a decision will be made soon whether to seek the death penalty in the case. Qoria's family will be consulted in the decision.
