Flooding creates big headaches for some New Hanover County residents

After nearly two inches of rain in Wilmington over the weekend, some residents are still flooded with problems.  Michael and Darlene Smith's backyard on Castle Hayne Road looks like a lake when it rains an inch or more at a time.  They just spent money on mold remediation, but after the weekend, water was under their house again.

The scene is similar in the Runny Meade neighborhood where intense rains on Saturday made Old Mill Road nearly impassible.  New Hanover County commissioners are expected to hear a drainage proposal on that situation at their meeting next Monday.
