Mother and son cleared of criminal charges in fire that killed 6

Before a courtroom full of reporters, Onslow County District Attorney Dewey Hudson announced that due to a lack of evidence of criminal culpability, Mary Turner and her 11 year son will not face criminal charges stemming from a mobile home fire that left 6 dead. After reviewing the evidence, Hudson found that Turner was a good mother and that her son Nicholas accidentally started the blaze. The D.A. even praised Turner's actions on the morning of the fire, saying she possibly saved the lives of her 4 children still hospitalized. Doctors though say it is unlikey all of the children will recover from the fire. Two children are listed in fair condition, two remain critical. Turner is in Chapel Hill visiting with her surviving children. Her son Nicholas is receiving psychiatric treatment to deal with the loss of his brothers and sisters.
