Are you finding it a little difficult to be thankful this year?
A friend of mine says you can always find reasons to be thankful, and then he shared some examples.
If you can't pay your bills, you can be thankful you are not one of your creditors.
You can be thankful that only you and God know the real you.
If you think you are getting too much government, then you can be thankful we are not getting as much as we are paying for.
If you don't have everything you want, then be thankful for the things you don't have that you don't want.
Be thankful there aren't twice as many members of Congress and only half as many doctors.
Be thankful that our teenagers will ultimately have children of their own who will grow up to become...teenagers.
Be thankful you are not a turkey this week.
And at the end of one of those days when the kids have driven you up the wall, and you have wanted to throttle them, be thankful you didn't and that they are finally in bed.
I think my friend is on to something. With a thankful heart and thankful spirit and a little different look at otherwise tough situations, you can find a lot or reasons to be thankful.
That's my turn. Now it's your turn - to be thankful I hope. To comment on this segment, or anything else, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
