CHADBOURN, NC (WECT) –The two people accused of murdering an elderly woman in Chadbourn earlier this month are back in Columbus County.
Police Chief Steven Shaw says Tiffany Louise Faulk, 27, and Kenneth Harold Gore Jr., 26, were illegally living next door to Jeannette Fowler at the Berry Court Apartments. Their names were not on the lease and only senior citizens and disabled people are allowed to live there.
Faulk and Gore face murder charges. They were arrested in Baltimore, Maryland just days after the incident. Officials were able to recover Fowler's 1997 Chevy Cavalier, which the pair had stolen. They were able to gather more evidence from the car for this case.
Fowler was found dead Sunday, November 7 in her apartment in Chadbourn. Police believe she was murdered the night before, around 5:00.
Preliminary autopsy reports indicate Fowler may have died from multiple stab wounds. Police have not released details for a potential motive.
The SBI, Chadbourn Police and the Columbus County Sheriff's Office are working together on the investigation.
