An elderly man has been arrested, after he allegedly shot four people in Wilmington early this morning. 86-year-old David Coggins faces four counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. His bond was set at five-thousand dollars, which he immediately posted. Authorities say the shooting happened at Eighth and Queen Streets around four o'clock in the morning. They say Coggins was involved in a property dispute when he pulled out a shotgun. He reportedly then hit four people with what's called "birdie shots" which are the equivalent of pellet shots. All four victims were brought to New Hanover Regional Medical Center. None of their injuries are described as life threatening. Coggins will be in court tomorrow morning. Authorities say he has an extensive criminal history.
