The three victims of a fatal plane crash in Edgecombe County include a Mooresville woman and two adults from out of state.
Sheriff James Knight says the victims include 24-year-old Joshua Burgess of La Habra, California, and 23-year-old Elizabeth Kerns of St. Albans, West Virginia. Also killed was 46-year-old Irene Anderson of Mooresville. Her dog was also found dead in the wreckage.
No one on the ground was hurt when the aircraft landed in a cow pasture. Officials have not yet said where the twin-engine Piper plane took off or where it was headed. Officials also do not know yet the cause of the crash. Federal crash investigators are expected to arrive at the scene today.
