WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Officers with the Wilmington Police Department have arrested a man accused of killing a man in Solomon Towers on Castle Street.

According to Lucy Crockett with the police department, 57-year-old Haneef Adib Rahamann, Jr. has been charged with the murder of 42-year-old Reginald Burke Bunton.

Police say both men were essentially homeless and were visiting a resident of Solomon Towers late Tuesday night.  The resident left around midnight to go to the store and returned to find Bunton dead on the floor, according to Crockett.

The resident told police that it appeared Bunton had been stabbed and Rahamann was gone.

Rahamann was taken into custody early Wednesday morning and charged with first degree murder and armed robbery.

An autopsy is expected to be conducted on Bunton Wednesday afternoon.
