Children's Museum of Wilmington hits record attendance

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The weather outside isn't the only thing scorching in Wilmington.  Admissions to the Children's Museum of Wilmington are also hot.

A record number of visitors passed through the doors of the museum over the last year -- 52,415.  That's up 8% over last year.

Museum operators say the number of memberships also hit a record level, showing them it wasn't just tourists visiting the attraction.

The executive director of the museum, Rick Lawson, says the museum will update exhibits this fall, offering visitors new things to do.

The museum is open 9am-5pm Monday through Saturday and 1pm-5pm on Sunday.
