Tropical Depression #7 forms in far east Atlantic

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -  A strong tropical wave that moved off the African coast a couple of days ago has strengthened and become tropical depression number seven this morning.  In the coming days the storm will move in a westerly then a west-northwesterly direction across the Atlantic.

With lots of very warm Atlantic water to feed off of and not much wind shear it is likely Hurricane Earl will form by the weekend.  It is too early to say exactly when and if this storm will affect the U.S.   However this one has a shot.  If you haven't done so assemble you hurricane survival kits as are rapidly approaching the peak of hurricane season.
