MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Three people are in Grand Strand hospitals after officials say they were struck by lightning during a Wednesday evening storm.
Horry County Fire Rescue spokeswoman Leslie Yancey said the unrelated incidents occurred around 6:30 p.m.
Yancey said a female is believed to have been struck in the Lakewood area; she has been transported to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center for treatment. A male who was injured at Ocean Lakes Campground was also transported to GSRMC. A second man was struck near Southbridge in Socastee. He was taken to Waccamaw Regional Medical Center.
