SOUTHPORT, NC (WECT) - The Brunswick County Hurricane Forum begins tonight at 7 PM at the North Carolina Maritime Museum. The public is invited.
This is an excellent chance to hear from and ask questions to a panel of hurricane experts and local officials. First Alert Meteorologist Eric Davis will be one of the speakers along with professional Hurricane Tracker Mark Sudduth of Hurricane Map Enterprises.
At tonight's forum, WECT will provide copies of this year's 2010 WECT Hurricane Survival Guide. There is a lot of good information in the survival guide on how to prepare for hurricanes: before, during, and after the storm.
Before tonight's forum Mr. Sudduth will be conducting an event for children ages 6-12. It is called Hurricanes for Kids and it will be taking place form 3-5 p.m. Kids will have a chance to learn how monster hurricanes form and a chance to see the high tech truck Mr. Sudduth uses to chase hurricanes.
