Brunswick County Sheriff's deputies set up an undercover drug bust in Navassa that landed six people behind bars.
Outside a convenience store in Phoenix, the undercover officers sold fake crack cocaine to six people. Those who took the bait were taken into custody and charged with attempting to possess cocaine, which is classified as a felony. They were not charged with possession because they had only purchased flour and water.
Accoriding to officials with the sheriff's departnent, the Phoenix area is known for having a drug problem. Officers are hoping this bust will help to quiet the nieghborhood.
