Wilmington Police arrested a 31-year-old woman late last night for dragging an officer more than 70 feet down a Wilmington Street. Police have charged Tracion Evette Flood after an officer tried to remove her from the vehicle during a traffic stop.
When the unnamed officer tried to open the car door, witnesses say Flood cranked-up the car and dragged the officer down the 800 block of South 10th Street.
Flood has been charged with hit and run, possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of failure to appear, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, breaking and entering and driving without insurance.
Flood has an extensive criminal history with the Wilmington Police Department that dates back to 1998. She is in the New Hanover County Jail under bond. The officer suffered head injuries and has been treated and released from a local hospital.
