BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - New charges have been filed in the DWI death involving a mother in Brunswick County.
Daniel Brennick, 22, was originally charged with DWI in the accident that killed Satu Harris, 38, earlier this year. Now, he faces a second degree murder charge as well.
Police say Brennick was driving a pickup truck north on River Road, when he hit Harris head on. She died at the scene.
Brennick has needed medical attention ever since the accident in early May. He is in Central Prison in Raleigh, because he needs specific car for those injuries. Highway Patrol officers say Brennick had to have a leg amputated and still has several casts on from that wreck.
Harris was a mother of three children.
