WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Several viewers really touched our hearts this week. On our WECT Facebook page we asked people to tell us why they love their fathers. Listen to what they wrote:
My dad is awesome. Through my 31 years of life he has never failed me.
Mary said that perhaps her father set the bar a little too high:
Wally Kaseta is perfect in my eyes, I have the most honest, patient, nurturing, selfless father in the entire universe! My problem is I can't find a husband that is a millimeter of the man Wally is. Thanks a lot for that dad!
Vanessa remembered her father's life lessons:
My dad passed when I was only 12 yrs old. But, in that short time he taught me to always be the best ME I could be. Never put on fronts for people, & always respect myself so that I could be able to show respect to others.
But most of all we were touched by what Mike had to say:
I just found out my father is on life support. He is not expected to make it through the day. His last words to me were, ‘I love you, son.'
Our condolences to Mike. I can tell you, as someone who has also lost my father, you'll never stop missing him, but his love will always be there.
Happy Father's Day to all you dads and dads to be.
That's your turn on fathers. To comment on this segment, or anything else, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
