WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -   2010 was on pace to be one of the coldest years ever in Wilmington through March. However, since March, Wilmington has experienced temperatures well above normal, especially over the last two months.

Temperature data from ILM airport shows through the first three months of the year Wilmington's average temperature was over four degrees below its historic 30 year average. In fact in February the average temperature was 6.5 degrees below normal alone!

Since April 1 it has been a totally different story. Wilmington's average temperature has on average been about 2.6 degrees above the 30 year average. June alone so far has been almost five degrees above normal!

If you total everything up Wilmington's average temperature today is only about one degree below the historic norms. This is even after one of the coldest winters on record.
