Police investigate fake "bombs" in Leland

At two different locations on two different nights last week, someone planted a device designed to look like a bomb in Leland; and investigators want to know why. Police say in both cases the device was harmless, but the incidents are inconveniencing Leland area residents. On Friday night, police evacuated the Food Lion supermarket and its parking lot after someone found a suspicious device. Precautions were also taken the night before at the post office when a similar device was located. Police won't describe the objects, but they say they're getting help from state and federal investigators in solving the case.
